The Eleventh Annual HR/TD 2005 Summit: Don’t Miss It!

There’s still plenty of time to clear your schedule so you can attend the 2005 CUNA HR/TD Summit in Indian Wells, California, from April 10 to April 13, 2005. The four-day event is packed with lively keynote addresses, informative sessions, the four-session Executive Series for senior executives, and a dinner reception.

Agenda

April 10

Pre-conference workshops begin in the afternoon. Led by Margaret Morford of The HR Edge, participants will learn how HR becomes a meaningful contributor within a credit union when all initiatives add value and increase core competencies. She will also discuss how to change your mindset about what HR needs to deliver today and in the future, and how to measure the strategic effectiveness of HR in your workplace. Then Tim Lazaroff of TCL & Associates will present “How to Get the Most from Your Training Budget.”

April 11

The keynote speaker is Eric Klein of Dharma Consulting, who will present “The Leadership Journey: A Path of Personal and Organization Renewal.” Some of the topics the subsequent roundtable discussions and breakout sessions will tackle include succession planning, executive benefits, COBRA/HIPPA issues, coaching, leadership development, and self-directed learning techniques.

April 12

Two breakout sessions are provided in the morning: “Performance Improvement versus Training: The Path to Success” and “Legal Issues.” Ten afternoon breakouts are available that discuss training ROI, HR manager issues, learning activities, DB and DC plans, orientation, how to speak “financial,” e-learning, compensation plans, and deferred compensation regulations. April 13

Breakout sessions in the morning are “How to Get the Best Results from Sales and Service Training,” “Consumer-Driven Health Care,” “Transfer of Training: Does Learning Guarantee Application?” and “Reflections on a Bad Day at the Office: Deposition of the Human Resources Manager.” The closing session is again provided by Eric Klein, who discusses high performance and fulfillment at work.
