Message from the Chair

It seems as if it was just yesterday that we were preparing to attend the 2004 HR/TD Council Summit in Miami. A year in the planning, the 2005 Summit is moving across the nation to the beautiful Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, California. Indian Wells is just 16 miles from the Palm Springs airport. Your Council’s Executive Committee has worked since the last Summit to bring you an exceptional conference agenda at an exceptional location.

The conference brochure will be mailed to you soon so watch your mail box, or look on our website. Click on HR/TD Summit starburst and then on Brochure. We know you will like what you see. Once you have looked at the brochure you can register on line for the conference. Don’t forget to make your hotel reservations at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa. Their number is in the brochure.

This year we are very excited about our opening and closing speaker. He is Eric Klein. Eric is a visionary, author, community leader, business advisor, and professional speaker on leadership development, corporate culture and organizational change. He has pioneered the application of spiritual wisdom to leaders who are committed to building high performance-high fulfillment organizations. He is a leading voice in the movement to bring greater meaning and authenticity to work and life.

Eric is the co-author of the best selling book “Awakening the Corporate Soul: Four Paths to Unleash the Power of People at Work”

Two pre-conference workshops will be presented on Sunday afternoon. The first is designed to help HR professionals play a greater role in their organizations. Titled “Getting a Seat at the Table,” Margaret Morford, President for the HR Edge Inc., will show you how to become a meaningful contributor within your credit union by becoming a business professional operating in the Human Resources Role.

The second Pre-Conference Workshop features Tim Lazaroff, Chief Learning Officer of TCL Associates. Tim will show you how to get the most from your training budget. This session is a must for Training and Development Professionals.

In addition, this year we are offering an Executive Series for HR professionals who want a more challenging series at our Summit. This series will be lead by Prof. Terry Curry of Michigan State University. Please note the materials in the brochure and sign up for this exciting new offering – space is limited.

I urge you to review the brochure and see for yourself the variety of sessions designed for both HR and Training and Development professionals.
