"In the News" RSS Information
| What is RSS and how can I use it with "In the News" articles? |
"In the News" articles are now available through RSS feeds, which use a technology called XML to deliver headlines and summaries to your desktop or Web browser.
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" -- it's a format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, blogs, and most recently, the CUNA HR/TD Council Listserv.
Here's how it works: If you click an RSS link but do not have a compatible reader installed, you will see XML code in your browser. To view the headlines, paste the feed address into an RSS news reader (see the list of compatible readers to the right), or use a browser which supports RSS feeds. There are many stand-alone software programs used to collect, update, and display RSS feeds. Many of these are free (such as SharpReader). Some work from within your web browser or email client, while other work on your desktop.
If you are using Internet Explorer v7+, there is a built in RSS reader.
Just click on the icon on your browser menu bar.
