In response to comments from the membership, Michael Hiller, Chair of the CUNA HR/TD Council, has announced that for the first time at this year’s Summit in Indian Wells, California, there will be a separate track for senior HR executives.
The track, called the HR Executive Series is “geared for seasoned Credit Union HR professionals who would like to see something more advanced and demanding at the conference. Participation this year is limited, but if the demand is sufficient the program will be expanded at the Councils 2006 Conference,” said Hiller.
Dr. Theodore H. Curry, II, Professor and director of the School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University will facilitate the HR Executive Series. Dr. Curry comments that, “The chief human resources officer (CHRO) is undisputedly a key player in shaping the future of the credit union. But what are the challenges, best practices, and environmental changes that are enhancing and inhibiting those CHRO’s that are true business partners? And what do those HR leaders still struggling to become strategic business partners need to facilitate their success? This workshop will explore those issues.”
The HR Executive Series sessions take place on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:15 concurrent with the other conference breakout sessions.
Hiller commented, “You will find the time spent with Dr. Curry exhilarating and challenging.
